About (Southeast Asia trip version)

len_go… just another girl out of the billions in the world. i went traveling to learn a little bit more about myself and my surroundings, to become more accepting of myself and my surroundings, and to find some beauty in myself and my surroundings.

i  am not a nationalist, and to paraphrase Huxley, i travel to discover that everyone is wrong about other countries.

i am not traveling around the world ~ just southeastern asia. you can see a list of the places i’ve visited here and my pictures here.

if you’re seeking suggestions for your upcoming trip to Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Burma, China or Japan – i’m composing an advice page here.

Bangkok has been the base destination from which i traveled to many others. Phnom Penh is the city where i spent the most time because of a volunteer commitment. but i don’t have a favorite place because locations do not mean much to me. i enjoy places because of the people i meet and it is this human energy i crave and seek.

why and how are my favorite questions (although finding answers is not my ultimate goal). writing is my primary means of expression and i humbly apologize for my deficits. sometimes when i am low on words (often) i rely on caricatures too.

i’m still a student although i haven’t attended university in nearly 2 years. i’m an avid reader of classical and avant-garde fiction and non-fiction as well as memoirs and political/social commentary.

i’d like to make my own contributions to the subjects that interest me. but most of all i’d like to live peacefully.

    Hi Yelena,

I’ve just come across your blog and I thought it was a really good read, I loved your post about Bankok. We’ve created a travel-related item that I feel someone like you might be quite interested in. Essentially, it’s a quiz that’s been made just for a bit of fun, and it’s about adventurers and is generally just a fun thing to go with all things travel. I’d be really grateful if you could take a look at it and maybe put it up on your blog if you enjoy it, and I think it would even add some more value to your blog as a whole. It would be really helping me out if you could do this for me. You can find the quiz at http://www.tripbase.com/quiz/whichadventurer/, thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Anna
